One Hundred Years In But A Moment

A century has passed in full
these last twelve months – impossible
to comprehend is th’life, long-past,
where he was not, for us, our all!

A wrenching rite of passage pathed
through tumultuous, rending waves
of searing pain, where breaths were grasped
from deep within unending haze…

And yet came worse – those hellish depths
of undeserved ‘n unjust checks.
By fracture fraught, those early days –
healed whole by th’joy of what came next!

An impossibly wondrous child!
Effusive; loving; funny; wild!
A splashing selkie, water-crazed!
All life ‘n light within his smile!

A step… A word… A jump… A run…
A trip abroad… The setting sun…
A salt-sea swim… A piece of cake…
We have his future now to make.
