Song Of Palestine – Refuge

Peaked-tents
of peace-white canvas
spread about –
bright flowers by the killing fields
that petal-bloom
in shining life
of hope,
humane ‘n loving.

Rows reaching outacross,
their anchored lines
embracing
‘pon the quiet sand
that tells
of the barefoot sweep
of the purest dance
of playing children.

Like flags of fierce resistance,
laundry dries
in its black, green, red, ‘n white
in the breeze
‘n the sunfire-warmth
to the sound
of the song
of the Palestinians.
