A Sonnet Of Despair & Agony

“What else is there but violence righteously
unleashed as the most desp’rate sacrifice
of all for all, for any chance at life
beyond this ‘pocalyptic century?”
Thus spoke the one for whom the flaming tide
that towers terrible in dread fortune
peaks imminent – its final crashing nigh,
with death immanent th’rout its tumbling plume…
“How else to stop those that will not be stopped
in mass manslaughter-murder at such scale
that Death indiff’rent d’livers gutt’ral wails
as through Time’s closing paths she sees prevail
the culprits only, ‘gainst whom still we rail
with all but violence, where are our fury stops‽”

Thus they spoke, indignant with rage
‘n existential pain,
their question ling’ring in the killing air;
their question drowning in the burning rain.
