More than rubbled-wreckage fallen,
broken-glass, torn-twisted homes,
streets strangled,
dust to starve the air
that carries th’sound
of murd’rous bombs;
more than the lifeless limbs of children
left to hang from the embrace
of trembling adults
wailing desp’rately
at their infinite loss;
more than a land “promised” to Israel
by a cloud of vicious spite
atop a mountain,
sending forth
his hornet-angels armed with fire;
more than ever-increasing numbers
shared in horror, disbelief,
‘n fierce commitment
by so many
out of Egypt ‘cross the world –
the people
‘n the place
(Palestine!
Palestinians!)
are
music
dancing
laughter
sunlight
seabreeze
poetry ‘n song
colourful vibrance
vast emotion
th’smells of food
the sounds of talking
family
beach-sand ‘n grass
architecture
cultural tales…
A people precious
valid
storied
human.
