The Floating Harbour shall be under a Free Culture license, specifically the Creative Commons license ‘Attribution 4.0 International’, with only one right reserved: attribution. The full details can be found and read here.
You are free to:
- Share – copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format
- Adapt – remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially
The licensor cannot revoke these freedoms as long as you follow the license terms.
You MUST read, in full, the license, found here: Attribution 4.0 International
You MUST clearly attribute the work to me, William Altoft.
If you remix/adapt/transform etc., you MUST clearly indicate what has been changed, in a way that you see fit, and give access to the original.
If you share adapted material you produce, the license you apply to it MUST NOT prevent recipients of your material from complying with this license granted the original.
You DO NOT have to contact me for permission at any time.
In short, in brief, essentially: if you were to download the book as a PDF, print it, bind it, and sell it, you would not owe me anything; if you were to put on a play of The Floating Harbour and sell out the Old Vic every week from now til 2100, you would not owe me royalties; if you were to take any or all of the characters, setting, story and make them your own, I will not go Disney on you.
Whilst always remembering the imperative point surrounding attribution, know that:
I am sharing this story. That makes it ours.
